Technical recommendations for answering exams and submitting assignments to the Virtual Campus

Are you a student and must take an exam or submit a paper on the Virtual Campus?

Make sure that:

You can identify yourself without problems in Virtual Campus, with your NIU and password. If you have forgotten your password, access here. In case of incidents, contact CAS.
Once you have confirmed that you can access, check that you see the virtual classroom where the activity will take place. If you do not see the classroom, contact the teaching team.
The date and time have not been changed, or you have written them down correctly.

Make sure you have a stable Internet connection.
If you use video conferencing, if you see a low connection quality warning, turn off the camera and the incoming video (stop seeing other people’s cameras) until you recover a good connection.
If you have many browser windows and/or tabs open and you don’t need them, we recommend closing them (to prevent the activity from loading too slowly).
Check your email in case the teaching team has sent you a message with important information).
Access the classroom a while before the start of the activity.

IMPORTANT. When entering the password, make sure that you do not have the caps lock activated and that you enter the word correctly.

If the classroom or activity page does not load correctly,
- check that there is no specific problem with your network – click on a couple of external web pages at UAB,
- consult the section Notices from the DTIC website (you will find all the information on possible incidents) to inform you about a possible incident on the UAB internal network.

Once you have accessed the classroom, do not try to open multiple sessions in multiple browsers, as this could have a counterproductive effect on the submission of the activities.
