How do I create a Group self-selection activity?

This kind of activity is meant to allow students join empty groups previously created by you. Thus, first you have to create all the empty groups needed and second you have to create a grouping with all of them.

To create the activity:

Add an activity of group self-selection

 

  • Fill the Name and Description fields.
  • In Select groups from grouping, you have to select the previously created grouping.
  • Indicate the Min members per group and the Max members per group.
  • If you wish, set the corresponding value and select the dates in which the students will be able to join the group.

 

Setting of the activity Group self-selection

  • Finally, click the Save and return to course button.
  • You can also decide if students will be able to leave groups, or if they will be able to create new groups, or change the group names, and more.
